My Role Model Leader

This blog is an inspiration from Dr. Mandi's Leadership development class. A wonderful teacher, motivator and one who stimulates thinking and innovation in us. thank you sir.
My role model leader is Indira Nooyi.

She says "As a leader, I am tough on myself and I raise the standard for everybody; however, I am very caring because I want people to excel at what they are doing so that they can aspire to be me in the future. "

INDIRA NOOYI, Chairman & CEO of PepsiCo., is a BRAND in herself.

People believe that Women’s are good at Managing Home and there work should be limited within managing the day to day activities of home only. I do not agree with this fact. Today Women’s are managing the day to day activities of Business also (despite managing the home ‘Work’). They are not only participating in business activities, but there scope of work has been expanded to contribution of revenues, Strategic decision making, leading the business groups, and driving them to growth. One of the best examples that we have today is Indra Nooyi-CEO of PepsiCo.
Born in Chennai, Nooyi did her Schooling from Chennai only. After completing her Bachelor’s in English and PGDM from IIM-Calcutta in 1978, Nooyi got the first job at Johnson and Johnson. After Serving different Managerial Positions at different big MNC s, Indra finally landed up at Pepsi in 1994.Nooyi being an Indian understands the needs of Indian people well and restructures the Indian Pepsi business in such a way that Pepsi sales have Started Rising up. Today, Pepsi is the Market leader in India and its arch rival Coke has been pushing hard to increase its sales. Coke vs. Pepsi.

In fact the global Supply Chain Model of Pepsi has been planned by Nooyi only.Indra has been a very Supportive leader and driving there Workforce from the front and giving them chances to participate in the growth of the company.

Her path-goal theory:
1. Performance with a purpose.
2. strategic planning

"Leadership is hard to define and good leadership even harder. But if you can get people to follow you to the ends of the earth, you are a great leader. "
Indira Nooyi

"The one thing I have learned as a CEO is that leadership at various levels is vastly different. When I was leading a function or a business, there were certain demands and requirements to be a leader. As you move up the organization, the requirements for leading that organization don't grow vertically; they grow exponentially.
